So, I had my annual interview with Evan about his favorites since it was his birthday on Monday. Some of the answers were funny, some were typical 4-year-old answers. All were fun to hear. Oh, to be able to get into the mind of a 4-year-old. I'd pay quite a lot of money for just a 10 minute look inside there. Here's a snippet:
Favorite show: Spectacular Spider-Man (which I think he's seen once...Saturday morning cartoon...and only because I'm at Zumba and have no control over what Michael lets him watch. I just assumed it would be something like Sesame Street or something. Hmm...)
Favorite movie: Star Wars (He's never actually seen this movie. Just bits and pieces that, of course, Dad has shown him. Again, I thought he'd pick something like Cars or Curious George. Oh, how times are changing. I SOOO have a boy on my hands!)
Favorite Color: Blue
Favorite Food: Macaroni & Cheese
Favorite thing to do with Mom: "Eat cereal together."
Favorite thing to do with Dad: "Spend the whole day with him."
Favorite thing to do with Maren: "Watch shows or movies." (which she almost never does with him, so I think he's wishful thinking)
What he wants to be when he grows up: Evan. When prodded and reminding him of some things he's wanted to be in the past to do for a "job", he said, "Zero jobs!"
Favorite friend: "You, mom."
Favorite thing to do when not at home: "Babysit Maren." (Hmm...this one is peculiar.)
Favorite toy: Iron Man suit
Favorite book: The Lorax
Favorite animal: Bats, spiders (could this be influenced by the proximity to Halloween?)
Do you want to go on a mission?: "No. I want to stay at home with you, Daddy and Maren."
Do you want kids?: "No. You are my kid. I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying in the same house."
What's hard to do?: "Make things at Home Depot."
What have you learned from Primary?: "Singing songs."
What do you love to do?: "Play with Dad the whole, entire day."

I busted out laughing when I got to the "what's hard to do?" I have to agree with Ethan there, i've seen those tool boxes my girls were making and they looked complicated to me.
So cute!! I like that you are "his kid" and he's not ever going anywhere!! I need to do this with my kids...great idea!!
I love the interviews you and Danica do. These are so classic. I think it's hilarious that his favorite thing to do with you is "eat cereal" (out of ALL the things you probably do together). But you are his favorite friend! That's gotta make you smile. :)
I remember my mom telling me that someday I'd love my husband and kids more than her. In tears, I vowed to her I would never love ANYONE more than her except Heavenly Father. The harsh realities of growing up, moving out, getting a job and having kids, don't worry Evan, it will be okay.
i love how you interview them on their birthday...what a fun idea!
Hilarious! I could hear Evan saying all of those things. Just classic EVAN! What a hoot!
Your stuff is too cute. We sure have missed you at clogging, but I am sure now that you feel better, you will be back.
